Course LogisticsMatrice normally delivers its courses at the customer's site. We do not normally hold public courses. This can be a problem for small organisations; although typically only three or four participants are needed for the costs of an on-site course to compare favourably with sending people to off-site courses. If you have the participants but would still prefer to have your course held away from your site, let us know and we will arrange a venue as described below. Please get in touch with us anyway, even if you don't think you have the necessary numbers; we maintain a database of other organisations in a similar situation. If you are looking for a course just for yourself, take a look at the possibility of distance learning. BookingCourses can be ordered by telephoning us on +44 7010 704705, by faxing us on +44 7010 704706, by writing to Bookings, Matrice, Hawthorn Cottage, Hadham Road, Bishop's Stortford, CM23 2QT, United Kingdom, or by emailing bookings@matrice.co.uk. Full details for contacting Matrice can be found on the contacting Matrice page Courses and programmes cannot begin without an official order. CancellingWhen arranging courses, we will hold provisional bookings for 5 working days. After that, another customer could be offered that slot. If a course is cancelled with less than 10 full working days of notice, then we will expect to be paid half of the fee. Participant numbersLecture based courses are limited to 12 participants (and we recommend, if possible, a minimum of 8 participants for the most productive interaction). With a single lecturer, practical courses are limited to 10 participants. By adding another lecturer we can increase this number to a maximum of 20. VenueLecture-based coursesLecture-based courses are normally delivered at the customer's premises. If this is not practical, please let us know 15 working days prior to the course start and we will organise alternative arrangements, and let you know the additional cost. For areas with a limited range of hotels or function rooms, even this amount of notice might be insufficient, so the earlier you can book, the better. We would normally expect to find the following equipment at the site:
If it is not possible to provide these items, please let us know 10 working days prior to the course start. We will make alternative arrangements and let you know of any extra costs. It is best if seating is not fixed. Auditorium style seating, for example, makes it difficult to switch from lecture to group work. Practical coursesIn addition to the above, we need a projector (LCD or Barco) for the lecturer's machine. If the customer is not able to provide the necessary machines and software, we require at least 20 working days' notice. TimesWe usually start the first day at 9:30 am, with the lecturer aiming to arrive by 9:00 am. Subsequent days' timetables can be amended to suit local practices. The finishing time is typically between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm. [ Home | Training | Consulting | Contacting ] Questions or problems regarding this web site should be directed to webmaster@matrice.co.uk.
