Matrice is an independent software engineering company that exists to ensure
that its customers have the appropriate environment and working practices
for the successful development of software-intensive systems.
Our mission is to provide expertise in the specification, supply and evolution of software strategies, technologies, processes, methods and toolsets, and in the organisation of human resources so as to improve the quality of our customers' software developments and bring measurable results from their investments. Matrice began as Lattice Limited which was formed in 1993. Its founders are John Deacon who has been developing, advising on and training in software development methods since 1983, and who has recently written the Addison-Wesley book, "Object-Oriented Analysis and Design"; and Richard Daley who has been involved in developing, consulting and advising on tools, the software development process and software metrics for over fifteen years, and who was a leading member of the BCS CASE Specialist Group committee for several years. In the year 2000 a rather large gas distribution group in the UK also thought Lattice was an excellent name. We grew weary of the ensuing confusion and eventually relinquished the name. So they are now Lattice and we are now Matrice. Our staff have extensive experience in software engineering and its stabilisation though process, methods, techniques and technologies, and have many years experience in their introduction and adoption by a wide variety of organisations. Matrice currently has four employees and several specialist associates. In addition to training courses in UML, CRC/RDD, CORBA, C++, Java and Smalltalk, Matrice offers project-specific consulting in areas such as Software Project Management Improvement, and Object Technology Transfer, and mentoring for all aspects of systems analysis design and implementation.
