Class Responsibility Collaboration (CRC) Workshop

Introduction

It isn't too difficult to begin object-oriented analysis and design. The same techniques as were used in entity modelling can still be used initially. Poor objects will result, however, if the information modelling approach is taken too far. An object is active, and presents itself though a service interface, and this must be considered early enough. The most successful, and perhaps most truly object-oriented, approach in this area is the responsibility-driven quest for classes, responsibilities and collaborations (CRC). The most effective vehicle for doing this is the CRC workshop.

Duration and Construction

The workshop lasts two days. Each day will start at 09.30 and finish at 17:00. Some theoretical material is presented and discussions and plenary sessions are held as well.

Intended Audience

Participants will be involved in the analysis and design of software intensive systems. They will probably have attended, or be considering attending, a complete object-oriented analysis and design course. They will interested in exercising and honing their skills at establishing good classes with good service interfaces.

This workshop is especially beneficial where a "first-generation" object-oriented analysis method has been adopted without augmentation in this area.

Aims

Numbers

We recommend between 12 and 24 participants.
